j.müller
is a south african born, london based artist designing new worlds as a singer, dj, producer, poet, creator of parth_é and our sacred rhythms. former lead singer of pop-funk band, black forest ghetto, she made her solo debut in 2018 with the single ‘I Surrender i’, has released a handful of self-produced tracks, her debut e.p, 'j.müller 2.0' and two full books of poetry, ‘peaceful thoughts’ and 'you are a mystic child' since then. she has also collaborated on 2 tracks from netherlands based producer and dj, philou louzolo’s album, ‘african gold’; ‘legacy’ and ‘rejoice’. of which, rejoice (also featuring cee elassaad + eli fola) is featured on black coffee’s spotify ‘track id’s’ playlist.
j.müller stands firmly in her ancestral roots, which translates through her sound by merging electronic music from different corners of the world to meet in an eclectic melting pot — allowing us all to connect deeper to our true origins as interconnected beings of light and sound. she was interviewed on bbc radio london in 2019, has played at noisily, electric picnic, lovejam, lost village festivals, as well as numerous venues in bombay, tulum and cape town. j. müller has opened for henrik schwarz at night tales, kathy from sister sledge and is a resident dj at secret brunch events in london.
she founded parth_é in 2017: a space to support those embarking on their journey of spiritual awakening and has expanded her conscious dance night — our sacred rhythms into a label, with the first release being her debut e.p. she was also featured in dj mag’s ‘12 emerging artsts you need to hear’ for november 2022.
prepare to be taken into the unknown through all of her creations as she weaves a new way of being through her art.

DJ MAG NOV 2022
“poet, singer, producer, DJ — every new venture feels deliberate and un-compromised. take her debut EP ‘j.müller 2.0’, released last month. the title suggests a renewal of sorts, and the music mirrors a spiritual and sonic journey that’s been two years in the making, each track brimming with supple layers of sound. and then there’s the lyrics, which, delivered with a wilful incantation, suggest an emerging worldview. after years performing with slick pop-funk outfit Black Forest Ghetto, j.müller ventured solo for newer, DIY sounds. the result was 2018’s debut single ‘I Surrender i’, a lean production with a warbling bassline reminiscent of early trip-hop — a counter, perhaps, to the lush tones that used to surround her voice. Singles such as ‘rebirth’ and ‘b.a.w.n’ (bad ass woman now) slowly followed. and now there’s ‘j.müller 2.0’, which is, in a way, both a break and continuation. sure the themes remain, but the sound points to a renewed inner journey.”
